The 2027 Black Crows Trios Freebird Poles are a high-performance, three-piece touring pole built with a blend of carbon fiber and aluminum for lightweight dependability in the backcountry. With an extended grip, ergonomic strap, and a broad range of adjustability, these poles are designed for long ascents, technical traverses, and everything in between.
Why we like it:
Few touring poles strike this balance of low weight, robust construction, and backcountry-focused features. These poles feel rock solid without tipping the scale.
Highlights:
Built with a carbon upper and mid shaft and an aluminum lower section, the Trios Freebird offers the strength and flex pattern needed to withstand variable terrain and heavy use. The Power Lock 3.0 aluminum clasp holds adjustments securely from 115 to 140 cm, and the extended EVA grip paired with an ergonomic, adjustable strap ensures confident handling whether skinning, bootpacking, or transitioning. A 90 mm flexible basket and tungsten carbide tip round out a pole that thrives in deep snow and technical terrain alike.
